RESA by Ushnakmals, is a generational legacy brand. Started by Lala Ushnakmal in late 1800’s in Lahore and later shifted to Banaras, the city of textiles in 1946 . Ushnakmals has been a name in the business since forever.
ESA is the newest extension of the 8 generations old legacy founded by their youngest creative director and from the newest generation of the family, the dynamic and creative ‘Vindhya Tandon’. Ushnakmals', in its history of very many years, sees its very first woman as the Creative Director with Vindhya who with her exquisite eye for detail and design plans on taking the lustre of yesteryears and revisit tradition by turning RESA into not just a brand but an emotion and a mirror to its fine legacy!
Emerging from the laps of the ancient city of Banaras, the finely woven textiles of RESA by USHNAKMALS’ transcend into an unmatched splendour with dual influences from the Mughal & Hindu cultures. True to its name, RESA aims to bring back erstwhile royalty to the contemporary world through our ornate weavings of zari and luxurious textures. Through RESA, I intend to grow the proud heritage of a bygone era with designs and weaves that each have a story to tell. I present to you, the journey of a generational legacy of Ushnakmals with a magnificent tribute to tradition.
